The Samurai is the 40th level in Dancing Line.
Soundtrack[]
- The soundtrack is in 8/8 beat.
- The main instruments are percussion, strings, bass, and the xiao (簫)
Gameplay[]
Dancing Line-The Samurai
Difficulty[]
- There is guidance line available, but yet it isn't really needed as most of the path is set.
- Multiple parts of the level are fast-paced.
- Many of the camera angles are awkward, so be careful of that.
- Some taps don't sync with the music.
Strategy[]
- Most of the level can be done by following the melody.
- Try to look at the line when the camera gets awkward.
- Be careful at the rooftop part. The roof is thin.
- DO NOT follow the xiao's melody after the rooftop. If you have been hearing, this shouldn't be too hard for you.
- Or, just look carefully at the rocks and avoid them.
- The rocks part (after the rooftop) is really tricky as it doesn't follow the melody, its best to watch the video or practice it.
Trivia[]
- The soundtrack of this level is ”Shameless Hustler” from Fantasia - Rolling Sky 2 Original Soundtrack Full Collection. However, there isn't such a level on Rolling Sky 2, so it's only used in Dancing Line.
- This is the second level to use a song from another Cheetah Mobile game; the first being The Alley and Piano Tile 2's Bluestone Alley.
- This level is Japan-themed. That makes it the 7th level to be based upon a country, following The Chinese Garden (China), The Despacito (Mexico), The Spring Festival (China), The Plains (Reggae Remix) (Jamaica), The Cathedral (Rock Remix) (Egypt), The Exodus (Egypt), and The Indian Journey (India).
- This also makes Japan the 6th country to have a level themed around it.
- This is the first iOS-exclusive level in the Dancing Line timeline, due to the ban from Google Play.
- This level is from the same designer of The Ocean.
- A picture was shown, talking about the level's difficulty. It was said that this level might have a higher difficulty than The Racing.

- Disappointment: the difficulty, as said in the news, is not hard as (let alone harder than) The Racing.
- This is the second level in a row, following The Video Game, that has almost no normally visible percentage markers.
- The 10% sign was on the right of the pavilion. You can see that at start point.
- The 90% sign was on the left of the lake, however, you couldn't see it if you're on portrait mode.
- At the forest part, ninjas appear, then turn into logs.
- At the village part, there's a Zen garden.
Glitches
- Near the village, there's a Pagoda, a multi-tiered tower with eaves, often found in Asian countries. More of them can be found in the later parts.
- When the line crashes or falls, the music fades out faster than usual.
- This level, once again, doesn't end with a pyramid. Instead, it goes into a cherry tree.
- Even though no samurai appear, the line might be the titular samurai, sort of like in The Legend of Assassin.
- Instead of the line actually jumping, its entire "body" is lifted up into the air.
- In the village, this is the first time that the line's view is damaged by the light. This is because of cubes overlapping each other, making it a glitch. This was Unity 3D's principles.
- In the end, the bridge is floating rather than being attached to the lake floor.
- A few days after this level was launched, there is an event to unlock The Samurai. The levels you have to complete include The Autumn, The War, The Chaos, and The Chinese Garden.
- The levels in the unlock event are the same as the event levels of The Romance.
- There are plenty out-of-bounds glitches in this level.
- The first crown of this level is tied with The Video Game's for being one of the earliest, both being at 8%.
- This level is one of the first levels to only be accessible by payment in versions after its release, due to it not appearing as an unlockable level in the challenge mode. However, it was added into the challenge mode in The Wizard of Oz update.
Some viewers asked the official if there would be any loopholes in this level.
Then...
Price[]
- This level costs $3.99 USD. Since The Wizard of Oz update, this level can be unlocked in challenge mode using 2,500 gems if you reach 12,000 points.
Percentage markers[]
Almost all of the percentage markers are not shown even in widescreen and 2D. The only visible percentage markers are 10 and 90% markers.
- The 10% marker is on the water to the right of the path. It is very hard to see in normal mode. But you can see it easily with Widescreen to Represent the 10% Marker
- The 20% marker is not shown (Invisible).
- The 30% marker is not shown (Invisible).
- The 40% marker is not shown (Invisible).
- The 50% marker is not shown (Invisible).
- The 60% marker is not shown (Invisible).
