Dancing Line Wiki

Percentage markers are an element in Dancing Line. They appear in all of the levels in the game excluding The Beginning (Old Version).

Background[]

Percentage markers have been around ever since the Pre-Alpha version of Dancing Line. But The Beginning is the only level that doesn't have any, most likely because of how extremely short it is. Percentage markers simply clarify to a player how much of a certain level has been completed. Of course, all percentages from 10% to 90% are shown. However, no levels other than The Crystal have a 100% marker. It is also the only level that has a different font than Caviar Dreams, the one usually used, most likely to fit the theme of the level. Even though the developers never put a different font for each level to suit its theme before. It is possible that the font in The Crystal is one that's similar to Scandiebox Four Regular, judging by the close resemblance.

Locations/Positions[]

  • It is worth mentioning that percentage markers differ in locations and positions from level to level:
  • They could be floating in mid-air, such as the 30% marker from The Legend Of Assassin or the 50% marker from The Chaos (Off-Screen).
  • They could be animated with an object, like the 10% marker in The Winter and its remix, where it pops out with the cube.
An 80% marker, also from The Plains

An 80% marker, also from The Plains

    • However, they could also be shown on an object that isn't animated such as the 80% marker from The Plains (on a tree) or the 10% marker from The Piano (on a piano key).
  • They could be on/under/next to a level's path. This is the most common placement of percentage markers, as most of them, even from the Pre-Alpha version, are placed in said way. Examples are the 40% marker from The Piano, the 80% marker from The Earth, or the 30% marker from The Alley.
  • They could be placed on-screen, but at an incorrect location in the level. Examples are some percentage markers from The Video Game and The Faded Original.
  • They could be placed correctly and on-screen, but hidden from sight by an object, whether animated or not (such as the 30% marker from The Plains, which is covered by one of the orange animated rolling carpets). Some can also disappear after a certain time frame (such as the 80% marker from The Chaos).
  • They can appear more than once (glitch) (such as the 30% marker from The Racing).
  • They could be inside of random objects (Such as the 20% marker from The Video Game).
  • Finally they could be invisible/off screen (such as the 30% marker from The Samurai or the 70% marker from The Legend Of Assassin) or not even shown at all for unknown reasons (such as the 100% marker from all levels other than The Crystal, or the 70% marker in The Storm, or the 20% marker in The Despacito which used to be on a villa to the left of the path but got removed).
